Large Chinese brass/bronze charger, which was part of the original decor, Grand Trunk Pacific Railway's Minaki Lodge, which was along the National Transcontinental Railway line. Was located in Ontario on the Winnipeg River in the Lake of The Woods district. Later it became part of Canadian Natonal's hotel system,

I obtained this charger from the niece of a gentleman who was a caretaker at the lodge, and who salvaged this piece when the lodge was undergoing removations.

Has had a bolt brazed/welded to the back for securing it to the stone fireplace's wall at the lodge for safety/theft prevention. This is where the signature of the maker would be, so it has unfortuantely been obliterated.

I have shown a copy of a postcard that shows the location of 3 of these chargers, and I suspect this one is the one shown on the top left side, the middle of 3 shown (the top one you can only see the bottom edge at the top of the postcard image)

Heavy, and measures 19 1/4" in diameter.
