About the size of a modern one cent coin, measuring just under 3/4" in diameter.
Created due to the scarcity of government issued cents during the civil war.
George Brinton McClellan lived from 1826 to 1885, and was an American military officer, politician, businessman, engineer and writer. He was noted for playing an important role in raising the Army of the Potomac, among other positions and activities during the US Civil War.
